1st look at Kael’thas Sunstrider

We managed to cook the chicken and take down Al’ar, so that lead us to some more interesting trash to get to the prince of all Blood Elves, the highbourne himself *drumroll* … Kael’thas Sunstrider.  He’s pretty cool and has a group with him that reminds me Maulgar’s crew & Fathom-Lord’s posse.

First look at Kael’thas Sunstrider:

Next look at Kael’thas Sunstrider:

We high-tailed it back to Shatt city and I forged a Stormherald for pvp.

Called it a night after that. /tired

I’ve been called to try and kite the Coilfang Striders on Vashj.  I suppose I will have to spec to Elemental Shaman in order to range kite the Striders effectively.  Our guild dps is just so strong, that enhancement shaman w/Frost Shock might not be the best kiting strategy around.  We are using a Warlock to tank at the moment, but I want to try it out so any advice on how to kite Coilfang Striders on Lady Vashj with Enhancement Shaman, please comment!

I have to catch up on some promised chores both in-game and RL, so I’ll be back in a few days with another update.  Buenos Nachos and good night.

Sup! You are around the same spot that I am regarding progression so it’s pretty cool to read your posts. We just downed Kael last week and are just beginning to enter Hyjal. We use an elemental shaman to kite striders in Vashj, but our elemental shaman pumps out over 1000 dps so he can easily hold agro… you just have to make sure that you can hold enough for your ranged to take him out quickly enough without ripping it off of you.

    Good reads… keep it up.

In my Guild we used a elemental shaman into striders but if i remember well u must use the Gladiator’s Thunderfist (elemental one ) gloves, because these gives you 5 more yards to your shocks, maybe that could help.

Not sure how your progress on Vashj is, but as an elemental shaman I’m far more efficient at kiting than a warlock (we originally tried with the warlock and CoE…frost shock gives considerably more slowing effect). Strafing in circles with Frost Shock (pvp gloves aren’t necessary), running far enough until you’re out of range for Frost Shock, stop to LB or CL, then immediately hit Frost Shock again before strafing around in the circle again. That usually provides me enough aggro to stay above warlocks that are pushing 1200dps.

Between that and 4 warlocks and a shadow priest dps’ing the Strider, we have them down in an easy 45-50 seconds.

We’ve got Vashj down pat now. We are struggling with Kael’thas, so I need some help there. Our raid is getting phase 2 down easy, but phase 3 seems to wipe us consistently.

    Any thoughts?

    My notes thus far:

    Melee Priority List:
    Kael’thas Sunstrider
    Lord Sanguinar
    Master Engineer Telonicus
    Cosmic Infuser
    Phoenix Egg
    Warp Slicer
    Infinity Blades
    Phaseshift Bulwark
